I have said before that the outrageous data rates on mobile phones are holding back adoption of the technology in Australia, and still believe that it is true. Gizmodo posted on the results of a survey which apparently confirms it.

EDMs and Thunderbird (Howto: Not be a Scammer)

Thunderbird is a great email client. I used it for a long time before I switched to Gmail, which is just as good (if not better) for my needs.

Remember The Milk - Finally, I can be (more) organised!

A few months ago I signed up to Remember the Milk, a free service that has made me far more organised than I have ever been before. Why?

  1. Free - Naturally, that helps
  2. Cross-Platform Compatibility - Not only does RTM work on my XP computer at work, and my Ubuntu machine at home (more on that later), it also runs very nicely in the mobile version on my phone (SE K800i). Wherever I am, one of these three devices is normally in the same room - my phone in particular. So wherever I am, I can add a task as soon as it pops into my head.
