Tracked Tweets
Tracked Tweets is my first wordpress plugin. There are plenty of plugins that tweet each new post you make, but I think there are a few features in this one that are not provided anywhere else.
URL Shortening
Post URL’s are shortened before they are added to the tweet. Current shorteners are:
- TinyURL
- tr.im
- bit.ly
- the RevCanonical wordpress plugin
Google Analytics Tracking
As far as I know, no other plugins provide this. This component allows you to see Google Analytics data which is specific to Twitter. Without building a custom link, twitter will not be tracked correctly. You are able to segment by all twitter visits, or a single campaign. I haven’t fully explored the tracking possibilities yet ![]()
- On the main settings screen, you can define the Google source and medium fields
- The post title is used as the campaign name
Hashtag/Tweet customisation support
- On the post level, you are able to specify hashtags (or any other custom text you need)

Hi All, sorry to hear issue with 2.8.3
I am travelling overseas at the moment, so am not coding.
I will update it in late October when I get back. If anyone fixes the problem, post it hear please
This must have been twitter’s issue over the last few days because the plugin is now working again after no changes to my configuration.
Just an idea. I just got my hands on this plug. Really like it but I have so many posts that I want to share. I’m willing to go back though them and force it to update so it adds to twitter. But it seems like it is looking for the “post” on the db and will not submit “revisions”.
I am happy with it as is, but a small option to tweet past posts would be nice as a one time use, or even if I have to go back though and it grabs revisions that it never posted. I noticed another plug like this added a column to the db (not cool BTW) but something like that might be needed (sigh) for my idea to work. I only do basic stuff but any advice would rock.
Looks like it’s not working again… possibly 2.8.4 or maybe just Twitter failing (?)

Be great to have the option to use ow.ly as a shortener, to fix to make scheduled posts tweet, and to be able to include/exclude categories for defaut tweeting.
Cheers,
David
Actually it is working. It looks as though adding too much text to the “Extra text for the tweet (such as hashtags) can be entered here.” line may prevent the tweet from happening (?)

Something happened with one of the latest updates. When using a Wordpress compatible desktop client Tracked Tweets doesn’t post to twitter. If I post in WordPress itself, the plugin works fine. I like the plugin, its’ small and sufficient, but my wife and I use clients to do most of our posting now and would like the plugin to post these to twitter as well instead of having to use the native Wordpress web client
