Lagunitas Censored (Kronic) is another beer from the tasting selection I got. It is an American Amber Ale.
Look
The label calls this beer a ‘Rich Copper Ale’, and it lives up to this title. It is deep copper in colour, with a tight head. It doesn’t leave any lacing, but the carbonation maintains the head.
Smell
Sweet, grainy malts dominate, with a subtle touch of American hops. The aroma is dominated by toffee and caramel.
Taste
The flavour profile continues on from the aroma, with the same strengths as the aroma. Bready, grainy, malt drives this beer, with just a garnishing of hops.
Feel
Medium mouth feel, with low to medium carbonation. Nice and smooth, but the sweetness borders on cloying.
Drink
One bottle was quite easy to drink, but any more would become a bit challenging. Enjoyable though, a nice interpretation of the style.
