Beer Review: Happy Goblin Pale Ale

I tried this beer a few weeks ago but never got around to posting a review.

Happy Goblin is brewed in Mt Kuringai. It looks like it is about as micro as a micro brewery can be – the label includes hand written dates and alcohol content.

Look

Happy Goblin Pale Ale pours a golden colour, with a small head which dissolves quite quickly. There is no lacing.

Smell

The aroma is quite light – there are slight hints of hops and toffee, but it is not strong.

Taste

As with the aroma, the flavour of this beer is fairly light. There is some bitterness and hops up front, and some sweetness follows. I thought the finish was a bit Belgian – I’m not sure. Very light flavours.

Feel

Light/medium body and medium carbonation.

Drink

Quite a drinkable beer, not too exciting, but not bad at all. It has inspired find where I can get some of the other styles (Strong Ale and Stout sound good).
